When you pick up your puppy at 8wks ; the period between 8wks and your puppy reaching 12 wks is a very important bonding time. It is also a very crucial socialising time. You will be told not to take your puppy out untill after he/she has had their vaccinations. This does not mean you shut them in your house, it means you do not place them down on the roads etc to walk, You must carry them, take them round the towns, markets, supermarket car parks, by doing this throughout the 8-12wks of age, you are getting them used to different noises, different shapes of people, children, childrens buggies, as well as the hustle and bustle of everyday life, what the pups see and hear throughout this important stage of their lives will remain with them, helping them to become confident outside your home. When introducing to other dogs, always make sure the dog is friendly and be ready to grab just incase it is not used to pups. A good idea would be to enrol it in a dog training class this would help your pup get used to being amongst other dogs.
